Uvalde County Appraisal District is taking precautionary steps to address concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19). Please be advised, we have opened our Office in a limited capacity to assist property owners that require in-person assistance. We strongly recommend property owners continue to choose remote options of communication when submitting applications or have a question.

We  encourage our  taxpayers to pay online, use the drop box, or by mail.  Property tax payments can be made online, click  here for instructions, or by phone      1-877-690-3729 with jurisdiction code #6543. There is a convenience fee of 2.4% for credit cards.

Message from the Chief Appraiser

Welcome to the Uvalde County Appraisal District (UCAD) official website.  Within this site you will find general information about UCAD and the “ad valorem” property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within UCAD and Uvalde County.  UCAD is responsible for establishing market values (at 100 %) and taxable values of all real and business personal property within Uvalde County.  UCAD appraises property according to statutes within the Texas Property Tax Code (TPTC) and guidelines established within the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).  UCAD’s primary website goal is to provide the public with online access to the information and functions of UCAD.

Tax Collections

2023 Tax Statements were mailed out in October, 2023 and are due before January 31, 2024 to avoid paying penalties and interest.  We encourage our taxpayers to pay online, use the drop box, or by mail.  Property tax payments can be made online, click here for instructions, or by phone      1-877-690-3729 with jurisdiction code #6543. Appraisal Projects

Areas scheduled for re-inspection for the 2024 Appraisal Year are Uvalde CISD outside city limits and Nueces Canyon CISD, both located in the western part of the County.  Another 2024 project is the update / requalification of homestead and over-65 exemption property owners of approximately 20 % of owners currently receiving it, pursuant to new requirement established by SB 1801 of the 88th Legislature.

The mission at the Uvalde County Appraisal District is to ensure that all taxable property is on the appraisal roll; to encourage property owners to apply for exemptions and benefits they may qualify for; to provide professional, respectful, and courteous customer service to our constituents, while preparing, producing, and certifying an accurate, fair, and equitable appraisal roll, completed and delivered in a timely manner to the taxing jurisdictions served.

The Appraisal District does not set tax rates.  The tax rates are set by each individual taxing entity.
